No longer one day to pay homage to those brick and mortar establishments that bring the noise, RSD 2020 is dropping three days of new, exclusive in-store releases and sales on August 29, September 26 and October 24 due to covid-19 health and safety concerns.
I realized the old tingle I’d get crate digging boxes of albums at a secondhand shop or the new arrivals section at a record store was now being replaced, much like a nicotine patch replaces a cigarette.
For me, the last few summers blend together. I’d struggle to pin down if the full moon party I played at was last year or three years ago, when I watched Purple Rain in the park, or exactly which year my bike got stolen. I can’t imagine that I’ll mistake 2020 for any other summer.
